According to Asghar, the formal proposal was discussed during a telephone conversation between his son and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif. “When my son informed me, I told him that it was a blessing for our daughter to be married into such a prominent and respected family,” he said, adding that all matters were finalised within two to three months.
Following the initial discussions, both families exchanged invitations and completed the necessary arrangements. Asghar confirmed that, except for the Barat ceremony, all wedding events will be held at Jati Umra, the Sharif family’s residence in Lahore.
The confirmation has sparked widespread interest, as the union further strengthens ties between two families closely associated with Pakistan’s political landscape. However, Asghar emphasized that the celebrations will remain simple and private, reflecting the wishes of both families.
